Ernst & Young is the sole owner of information collected on the Retired Partner & Principal News Network (RPNN) Web site. Ernst & Young collects information from our users at several different points on the RPNN.
In order to use this Web site, users must first complete an Access Request form. On this form, users are required to provide contact information (such as name and email address). We use this information to contact users about the Retired Partner & Principal News Network web site. Because the RPNN provides access to personal financial information, we also request users’ social security numbers to verify identity.
We request User name and Password information every time users logon to the RPNN. Users are responsible for maintaining the security of their password. We suggest users follow the following password guidelines:
- Choose one that is difficult to guess. Avoid words that may be found in the dictionary, as these are easy to guess.
- Change your password regularly.
- Do not share your password with anyone.
- Never write your password down or store it in your computer.

We have no access to or control over cookies used by sites other than the RPNN.
Like most standard Web site servers we use log files. This includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and number of clicks to analyze trends, administer the site, track user’s movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. We use a tracking utility that uses log files to analyze user movement.
We send all retired partners & principals who request access to the RPNN a welcome letter that provides them with their Password and User Name. This letter is sent via the United States Postal Service. Retired partners & principals who ask service-related questions or request information via the RPNN Web site will be responded to via email.
On occasion it will be necessary to perform routine maintenance on the Web site. If service is temporarily suspended, an announcement will be made online.
We communicate with users on a regular basis to respond to requests and in regards to issues relating to their accounts. All communications are made via email.

Partnership Technology takes every precaution to protect RPNN user information. When users submit sensitive information via the Web site, their information is protected both online and off-line.
Financial information is encrypted and is protected with the best encryption software in the industry - SSL. Encryption makes data unreadable to everyone except the recipient of the data. Encryption is often used to make the transmission of financial information secure for online banking purposes. We also employ an Internet firewall designed to securely separate the Internet from our internal computer systems and databases. Data coming from retired partners & principals computers via the Internet flows through a series of safety checkpoints on its way to our internal systems. This ensures that only authorized messages and transactions enter our internal computer systems.
While we use SSL encryption and firewall technology to protect sensitive information online, we also do everything in our power to protect user-information off-line. All of our users’ information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted in our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job are granted access to personally identifiable information. Furthermore, ALL employees are kept up-to-date on our security and privacy practices. Our employees are notified and/or reminded about the importance we place on privacy, and what they can do to ensure our users’ information is protected. Finally, the servers that contain personally identifiable information are stored in a secure environment that we monitor regularly. If a user’s personally identifiable information changes (such as zip code, phone, email or postal address), we provide a way to correct, update or delete this information online. All personal profile changes can be made using the Retired Directory feature of the RPNN.
